I originally purchased
an Ameda Purely Yours breast pump. After using it for 2 months,
the motor in the unit went bad and I had to manually pump with
a medela that I had on hand. After 20 minutes per breast and
only yielding 3 ounces pumping manually, I knew that waiting
for Ameda to replace my motor was out of the question (although
they did offer). I was somewhat reluctant to purchase this pump
because of the newness of the product and the reviews indicating
it "had so many parts", but we are using Avent bottles,
so it seemed more convenient. I pumped for the first time after
my son had finished nursing and netted 3 ounces! In addition,
its ease of use and comfortability factor far outway the amount
of parts that it consists of. |

| This pump is great! After my daughter was born I went back to work full time and this pump comes with me every day. I have been pumping with it for 6 months now and, I have not had one problem with it. It is lightweight and comes in a stylish tote that doesn’t look like a breast pump at all. It would be great if this pump had an optional chargeable battery to use when I am away from home. The ability to change the speed of suction is wonderful! It gives me so much flexibility. I will absolutely use this same pump for my next baby! | |||||||||||||||||||||

After having a difficult time initiating breastfeeding with my son I realized that I would need to begin pumping. When I first started pumping, I rented a hospital pump from my lactation consultant. I was able to pump about 3 oz. in 15 minutes, but the rental fees were really started to rack up after a couple of months. The hospital grade pump was entirely too expensive to purchase, but while searching around I saw that the Avent Duo was often compared to the these more powerful pumps so I figured I'd give it a try. The Duo actually turned out to be a better fit for me because now I am pumping about 4 oz. in 10 minutes which may not seem like much of any increase, but when you are exclusively pumping anytime you are able to express more milk in less time it is a victory. I found the breast flanges to be very comfortable and I always use the massaging cushions, but you can remove them if you prefer. They help me keep good suction so I always use them. |

I have been pumping with the Avent Isis Duo for the past six months. I really like it, but I also do not have anything to compare it to because it's the only pump I've ever used. The massaging petals work for me because when I try to pump without them my nipples get sucked in too much. I really like how I can change the pumping speed at anytime during a session. I usually start out with a moderate speed and then slow it down after I get a let-down. The biggest draw back for me is that it does not work on battery power so I always have to have an outlet nearby in order to pump. Otherwise, this pump is great and it really gets the job done. |

| This pump is very easy to use and comfortable. I have been able to pump a lot more milk than my baby needs right now and store a growing supply in the freezer |

I love this pump due
to it size and portability. I read the reviews on the Avent
pumps and decided that it was the right choice for me. I ordered
my pump online and received my package 3 days after I placed
my order. I recommend using the Avent Uno breast pump because
it is affordable and it is fast! |

| I chose this pump because I wanted something that would be easier to use than a manual. The Isis Uno is definitely worth the money. It is so easy to use and assemble and it actually works! Since you create the rhythm like with a manual pump instead of having preset ones, I was able to pump more than 3 oz. in less than 10 minutes. This is a great pump for any mom that wants a little more from a pump than a manual can offer. | |||||||||||||||||||

| I'm a mom of a 2 year old and a 1 1/2 week old. With my 2 year old I struggled with other types of electric pumps and never did find one I really liked that was affordable. NowI have my single electric I don't t hink I could live without it! It was a lifesaver those first few days when I was engorged! I would recommend this to any new mom!!!" | |||||||||||||||||||

I absolutely love this pump because it is so easy to use and is very gentle. With this pump I’m able to express anywhere from 6 to 10 oz. of milk in less than 15 minutes. My only complaint about this pump is that some of the parts are too small to clean in the dishwasher so they need to be hand washed or placed in a basket. This pump has been great for me because I’m an SAHM and only pump occasionally. |

| Everyone on Earth told me, "Don't
cheap out and get a manual pump! Get the Medela!!!" I do
like the Medela, but...well, read on.
Last week, when my baby hit 4 weeks, my husband and I spent the weekend on a mini-vacation while my mother-in-law took care of the baby. I didn't want to take my big, luggy Pump-in-Style along and set it up in the hotel room, just to express milk that I wouldn't keep because I had nowhere to keep it. So I went to the drugstore and bought the Avent Isis, about which I'd heard good things. Compared to the electric pump, this was SOOOOOOO CONVENIENT. All you have to do is hook up an Avent bottle (or disposable breastmilk cup) and go. There's no tubing to plug in, no bag to lug around, etc. I got just as much milk out of this as I do from my Medela P.I.S. It was easy on my hand, too, and I have a tiny, tiny bit of residual carpal tunnel syndrome left over from pregnancy. The milk just flowed. Also, I was already using Avent bottles, so that makes this even easier. If you want to store your milk in Avent bottles but use another brand of pump, you have to buy Avent's bottle-neck adapters. (I have these, too, for the electric pump.) With the electric pump (for the unfamiliar out there), you have to hook up tubing between the part that gets the milk from your breast, and your electric pump unit (concealed in the fashionable bag). You also have to hook up a plug from your bag/pump unit to the wall. It is annoying if one end of the tubing, say, touches the floor or your pet comes up and gets his face on it before you get started (have to re-clean and start over). There are other annoyances, but the setting up is the most inconvenient part of the electric pump. With the manual pump--and the Avent Isis is a particularly good one--you just hook the bottle to one end of the pump, put it up to your breast, and get milk. I guess the one advantage of the electric pump is that you can pump both breasts at the same time. I don't find the Isis to be remarkably slower than the P.I.S. And I get just as much milk. (Some people don't.) If I had less money and economy were more of a consideration, I'd surely try this pump first before trying an electric pump. So... PROS CONS Oh! One more thing: if you want to store your milk in bags, whether you use an electric or manual pump, just express the milk into a clean bottle and pour it into a bag. The Medela has a complicated method for expressing right into a bag, but it takes EVEN LONGER to set up. And use Lansinoh bags. |

| This pump works really well for me. I can pump 5 oz. in about 10 minutes. Just be sure to put all of the pieces together correctly otherwise it will not work and you’ll keep pumping but not get much milk. I would recommend this pump to any mom who wants to give dad a chance to feed the baby once a day. I probably wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who is returning to work because it does take a little effort to pump with this manual. | |||||||||

As long as you can get good suction this pump works really well. All the pieces have to be fitted together just right in order for it to work. It seems as though when I am tired or in a hurry I can't get suction. But if I take my time, to check everything it works great. The culprit is usually the small round star-shaped valve that is not fitted correctly. Otherwise, when the suction works, the pump works great and I'm able to get so much more milk (and more comfortably) than with my cheapy Medela Single Electric pump. Plus, this pump is super convenient since I can pump right into my Avent bottles. This is a really good product for the price. |

My little boy and I had problems with breastfeeding from the first day, and it took us about 3 weeks to really get the hang of it. During those three weeks I had to pump for every feeding. Because of our problems he had lost quite a bit of weight in the beginning and I had to feed him every 2 hours. So I was doing a LOT of pumping. If I had known I would have to pump so much, I would have bought a double electric pump. But this little pump did a great job. I kept trying to get him to latch on and eventually when he was three weeks old we got it. I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding him for the past 9 months and I have this manual pump to thank. The only drawback of this pump is that the let-down cushion didn’t work for me. It kept coming off and causing me to lose suction. Once I took it off completely I never had another problem. |

This is the only pump I use and I absolutely love it (yes, pumping can be enjoyable)! I work part time and I pump about 3 times a day when I’m at work. I have been using it for 3 months now (my daughter is 6 months old). I wish I had it when my 1st child was breastfeeding. I had a cheap electric when I pumped for my son and hated it. With this pump I am sure that I’ll be able to continue breastfeeding and pumping until her 1st birthday. Don’t be in a rush. Give yourself a little time and your milk to come. You won't need to squeeze the handle very hard once you letdown. |

I tried several "NEW" electric/battery designs before I found this manual set. It is the best! I was worried about going back to work and having to pump every 2-3 hours and make so much noise in the restroom. Yet I was also concerned about the length of time I thought a manual pump would take. This back-to-work set was the answer to both of those concerns! I made sure my milk supply was well established (it only took three weeks for me before I started pumping). I was able to pump 4-6 oz in about 5 minutes and up to 9+ in under 10 minutes (and absolutely silently!) The washable breast pads were great for night, but I used super thin ones during the day. The pump is easy and fast to assemble, and easy to clean. I stored the bottles right at my desk and the ice packs kept them cold all afternoon. And now that I am not nursing anymore, the two 4 ounce bottles and two 9 ounce bottles that are included with the set are always in use for his formula. He won't drink from any other nipple! And the carry case - I use that for a lunch tote with the ice packs! A GREAT value!!! |

I have 2 of these pumps and they are fantastic. I find it to be easy and efficient to use...and I've been using it for over a year. It is THE BEST hand pump on the market. I ALSO have a Medela Pump N Style double electric pump...but I must say that the Avent Isis works just as well. I alternate between the two types of pumps depending on my schedule. I keep my Pump In Style at work...as it is faster to pump both sides at once...but I use the Avent Isis at home and on weekends...or if I am going to be away from the office for business travel, tradeshows, or off site meetings. It is compact and small and easy to pack for the day or a trip, etc. It is comfortable...you have a lot of control over the suction...and I can express just as much milk with this hand pump as I can with my electric pump. All of the Avent products are fantastic. I
can't recommend them more highly. My biggest advice to anyone
looking into breast pumps is NOT to buy ANYTHING sold by formula
manufacturers...they do not care if you are successful breastfeeding.
Avent and Medela products are wonderful. This is the absolute
best pump for the money. My friend Christine used hers for over
a year while working...it was the only pump she had...and she
did great with it. |
