Decent pump but I was expecting more. I like the bag that is comes with but there are way too many tubes and extra pieces. It made pumping for my baby a bit complicated.

This pump is so not worth the savings. I thought I was getting a really good deal because this pump worked great the first few times I used it. But about 3 weeks into pumping the motor seemed to be struggling to pump and it no longer pumped with a consistent rhythm. After about two more weeks, it died during my morning pump session. I would not recommend this pump to any mother. I bought an Ameda Purely Yours pump after this one died and I absolutely love it.

I really like the simplicity. Only three pieces to clean per pump. It is noisy but great deal for the price. I have used it for 2 months an average of 2 daily and have gotten as much as 9 oz at a time. I have had a problem with milk backing up at times but will try the recommendation to use original bottles.

I read a few of the other Elan reviews and keep hearing moms complain about the pump motor having little or no suction. I must say I had the same problem at first, so I called Evenflo to complain. They let me know that the motor has a sensor on it. If you turn the suction up to quickly, the motor runs slows to protect the nipple. If you press and hold the up arrow on the suction for a few seconds the motor returns to normal speed. Now that I know the trick, I love the pump. It works great! I get a let down very quickly and have no complaints about the pump itself. I think it was worth the money and would recommend it to a friend. The Elan bottles that it comes with I dislike very much. They leak at the bottom. I called Evenflo about the bottles as well and them sent me a new set, that also leaked. If you are going to use this pump and store the milk in the bottle for any length of time, I advise that you buy the storage containers. They can be used in freezer and you can also screw on a nipple and use it as a regular bottle.

I only use this pump occasionally, but when I do use it I am able to get enough milk for one of my daughter’s feedings. There isn’t enough suction if you only pump on one side at a time, so you definitely have to pump both if you want it to work well.

DO NOT buy Evenflo breast pumps! We purchased the top ofd the line they had as it was cheaper than Medela in January 2011 and when certain parts were needed to be replaced only in June 2011 they said that pump was not being manufactured as they had updated their pumps and the ‘old’ parts were not available! PATHETIC service!
