We purchased the pump prior to the birth of my daughter in October 2006. I didn’t really need to use it while I was home on maternity leave, but began about two weeks before starting back to work. It was great in the beginning – that is where the 1 star comes in – and then the motor got worse and worse by the end of the first month of use. It was skipping and then would go really slow like it was laboring to work. It wasn’t pumping, so I would be left with hard, full breasts after 10-15 minutes of pumping. I was very concerned about my milk supply diminishing. I called and I have to say that Evenflo’s customer service is great – they sent me another pump even though the 90 day warranty had passed. Unfortuantely, i am experiencing the same thing with this one. Apparently there is a problem with the motor for this pump and they need to do something about it. I am out $160.00 and had to go purchase a more reliable pump – a Medela who guarantess their pump for 1 year. It is just very disappointing when you don’t want to feed your child formula and you want to nurse.

2.5
I liked the pump at first. I recived it as a gift for my baby shower. It worked great for the first 2 weeks. That was when I noticed that the moter was getting milk in it. The design of this pump is flawed. Some of the milk actualy travels up the valve and is sucked into the air hole vent going into the moter. It didn’t break right away because it was a small amout at a time. It took about another two weeks of it slowly loosing sucktion and eventualy not sucking at all before I threw it away and bought a system with a long hose and a moter. The hose alows any moister to evaporate before entering the moter.
