New Mommy ( )

I bought this pump after two weeks of trying to get newborn to latch on and using hand pump given by hospital. After two weeks of usage, my milk suply has decreased and nipples are sore and cracked. I was only getting about 1oz during a good pump session. Even on highest setting, milk was low. I am now back to using the hand pu,p and organic teas to try and build supply back up while waiting for pricey pump to be delivered. I didn't want to spend the higher amount of money, but I have now wasted more money buying this one and neither Target nor First Year will give me my money back!!

I was so stressed out about not having the money to buy a pump, then I came across this one! I was skeptical because of the reviews but decided to buy it anyway, and I am glad I did! I used this pump in the hospital and everyday since then and it works great!! I was scared it would hurt but it is very comfortable! Very easy to use and clean! I would definitely recommend buying this pump.

This pump is horrible! I have 2 sons and with my first i used a rented electric pump that hurt so bad i had to stop pumping after 6 weeks.

With my baby now i brestfeed exclusively, but i am pumping to build up a reserve supply for when i have drill weekends with the Army.

I bought this pump right after i had my son and now 2 and a haf months later have given up hope on it. It takes about 30 minutes of assemby because the suction never works so you have to constantly go back through everything and see what is wrong. Mostly every time there's nothing wrong the suction just is horrible. It takes about 30 minutes to pump 2 ounces. I just went and bought the Lanisoh manual brest pump and in ten minutes had it assembled and pumped my 2 ounces. I would NEVER recommend the First Years Manual pump to any mother!

This pump is awful. I bought it because it was cheap and trust me you get what you pay for. Every time I tried to use this pump it would leak and milk would get into the pump’s mechanism. To make things even worse you can’t even use the collection jars for feeding so you have to transfer the milk. In my opinion, this pump is not worth it and Target should pull it from their shelves.

I bought this pump on vacation because I accidentally left my good electric pump (Ameda) at home. I was terribly disapointed with this pump from the first moment I took it out of the bag. The directions were unclear on how to use it...and the top popped off while I was attaching it to the catching cup. After this, the pump wouldn't suck properly. I finally threw it in the trash because it just never worked right. Save your money or invest it in a pump that works. I highly recommend Ameda.

This pump is not recommended at all. I purchased the First Years pump because I have several other First Years products already and thought it was a good brand name. I was proven wrong. After using the pump once the whole handle fell apart in my hand. Then it became a useless piece of junk. I called the "1-800" number, they said they would not take it back so I can get my money back they would only send me another handle. Still didn't work there was no suction at all with this model.

Wow this pump is horrible! I used mine 3 times and now there is no suction at all. Luckily I have a backup manual Medela pump that works 10 times better. First Years is out for me.

My motor blew after only 2 months!!! I am so dissapointed! The valve that lets the milk into the bottle would sometimes fail, so instead of milk flowing into the bottle, it would get sucked into the pump!
N. Hughes ( )
I liked this pump at first because the suction was easily controlled by a dial so there was no discomfort. But it took forever to pump with and I felt like I was wasting a lot of time. Then the pump lost suction completely after milk got into the pump. I called First Years to get a replacement, but the 90-day warranty was up and they said that nothing could be done. I will never buy another First Years product.

This pump works okay, but I am able to express the same amount of milk with my manual pump without the loud, humming noise that this pump makes. I didn’t find that is worked any faster than a manual pump. Plus you can get a manual pump for a better price.

This machine is not recommended. After purchasing a First Years Manual pump and didn't work I thought it was me why I couldn't get any milk. I didn't think it was the pump because First Years was a good brand name to me. I was proven wrong. After 1/2 hour pumping I only got 1 oz the suction is horrible. After calling the "1-800" number about this product they told me that they would not replace it or give me my money back they would only send me a new suction piece for the pump. Still didn't work. First Years breast pumps are horrible. Now I am stuck with two useless pieces of garbage.

It worked pretty well for me, slow going (takes almost an hour to fully pump both breasts). But, yesterday after owning and using the pump for only 6 months, it totally quit on me and doesn't work anymore. I'd suggest investing in something more expensive that will last longer!

I purchased this pump about 1 1/2 months before returning to work with the hopes of storing enough of a supply to not have to worry while I adjusted to my new routine of working full time/pumping. I used it three times before it completely lost suction. I called the 800 number and they willingly sent out a new pump. Unfortunately, it took nearly two weeks to arrive. When I did finally get it, I was completely disappointed. I wasn't even able to use this pump a second time, as it was in the same non-working condition as the first. I called the 800 number again and received the same response as before.

With only four weeks left before I returned to work, I began to panic so I went out and purchased an Avent Isis IQ Uno to use in the meantime and assumed I would just return the new pump in the sealed package to Babies R Us once I received it. The third pump took nearly two months to arrive!! I had to continually call the First Years warranty line to inquire about the shipment and was told twice that it had already shipped; however when I asked for a tracking number, I was told they had made a mistake and that it hadn't actually shipped afterall.

At that point, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and finally got a response. I was contacted by The First Years within a week of submitting my complaint to the B.B.B. and after faxing a copy of my original sales receipt was sent a check for the full purchase price of the pump. I would not recommend this pump or any other First Years product to anyone who is in search of a good quality product. Not only do their products lack quality, their customer service also leaves a lot to be desired. The Avent pump I use now, is wonderful!

I also love my Bay Stroller from Strollers Direct

It SUCKS! The first time I used it, my milk got into the motor and I had to wait 2 weeks for them to send me another one. Its super slow. My hand expresses the milk much faster. First Years is off my list for sure.

This pump initially worked well (although it was much more painful than my new Medela), but one side of the handle always had trouble "catching". I used it for four months with my first child in 2006, and just tried to use it again with my second. The rubber valve fell out of the problem side and won't work. When I called customer service, they told me that the warranty was expired, so I was out of luck. They would not even let me purchase a replacement part. The customer rep then HUNG UP ON ME. When I e-mailed to complain about my treatment by customer service, they ignored the email.

It was almost impossible for me to begin using this pump because it is so awkward. The collection cups attach to a bar/handle that you have to hold with one hand out in front of you. Then you have to use your other hand to adjust the manual suction release. Between holding both bottles with one hand (which gets heavy) and having to keep my thumb in place for the suction release pumping was just too tiresome with the First Years Natural Comfort Double. In my opinion this pump is too awkward to use successfully but it gets the job done!

It worked for me and I used this pump often. Some of the downsides are that it is really bulky and loud. If it is not on strait it pinches and will leave bruses (but the same goes with the baby). I would say that I would be able to get about four oz. ever half hour or so and I would only use it on one side at a time because I found it too uncomfortable to pump both brest at the same time.

Bought this pump because my first purchase (Evenflo Comfort Select) died on me after only a month of use. The suction drastically declined within a couple uses and eventually the motor died. This pump is SO MUCH better. The suction control dial is so strong I can only turn it a 1/3 of the way around! It's easy to position, easy to clean/sterilize and has minimal parts. Good buy for the price!

I have had this pump for the last 4 yrs. I am now using it for my 3rd. child. The storage containers are nice and the adjustable setting makes it comfortable. Great buy!!
