Ameda Purely Yours Backpack Review

I have used this breast pump to pump for both of my children. With my first child I was able to exclusively pump for over 1 year and never needed to supplement with formula once. I was able to get a lot of use out of it. Now three years later with my second child (he is 3 months) I am still using the Ameda Purely Yours Backpack pump without any problems (even though it was in storage for over 3 years). Although I’ve used the pump without any problems, I have needed a couple parts here and there, but I was able to find all the Ameda replacement parts at Ameda Direct.

I absolutely love my Ameda Purely Yours Backpack. I was impressed with the Ameda pumping system right away after reading all the positive reviews. While at the hospital, I was able to try an Ameda and a Medela before purchasing my own. The Ameda was a clear favorite right away. The Medela was much more difficult to clean especially when compared to the easy clean up of the Ameda.

I have been able to use my Ameda Purely Yours Backpack wherever I go thanks to the two power options. I always keep a set of AA batteries in the backpack just in case I need them and I always keep the included car adapter with me as well because you never know when you’ll need them. I love that the car adapter comes with the Ameda Purely Yours Backpack. You will not be disappointed by this pump.

I love this breast pump. I love how everything fits together in the Backpack & looks just like a purse! The Purely Yours is easy to use because there are not a lot of parts & it has made going back to work so much easier because I don’t have to spend a lot of time pumping. This purchase was definitely an investment & you will not be disappointed with this breast pump.

I was very impressed with this pump. I researched (to death) breast pumps as I planned to keep nursing even after returning to work. As recommended by the Baby Bargains book- which is a must-read, I chose and bought this one from the other brands and I’m so happy I did! I used it for 9 mos straight, carried it back & forth to work- it was so lightweight that it wasn’t an inconvenience during my 1.5hr commute to work. The best part about this pump is that you can regulate the cycle (how fast) and suction (how strong) of the pump. Also, the hygieni-kit is a marvelous idea- none of the other parts come in contact w/ the breastmilk, so clean-up is a breeze. You just basically have to wash the flasks & bottles used after each pump session. You can also pump the milk directly into a milk storage bag with no problems. Instead of attaching a bottle to the flask, you just place the milk bag over the flask opening to catch the milk and it will drip right into the bag. You do need to hold the bag(s) securely to keep in place.

There’s so many more great things I can share about this product. This really helped me have an awesome experience with breastfeeding, esp while I was away from my son a great deal of time each day. I highly recommend it. The Ameda Purely Yours Backpack was very reasonably priced at Breast Pumps Direct and very, very worth it!
