You can adjust the suction strength, length of time the suction lasts, and the “rest period,” all just by pumping manually a few times. This is the exact reason that I splurged on a new pu

This pump works great. I work at a place that rents this pump so thought I better give it a try. I have been very satisfied. Customer service is very helpful. I didn’t give it 5 stars for a few reasons. They currently only offer one size flange, however Medela Lactina kits do fit on it. I hear they are considering pairing with PuminPals to give mom flange size options soon. Also the little duckbill suction valve is tricky to know how far in to place it. I shoved it all the way in and then it was told to just put in in flush and it worked far better, I can now easily remove 3-4 oz from each breast. I am comparing this too my Ameda pump I think they both work very well. It is also great that this is the only FDA approved pump that you can actually share with your friends!

This pump is very easy to use and comfortable. I have been able to pump a lot more milk than my baby needs right now and store a growing supply in the freezer

As a second time mom with previous milk supply issues, I looked forward to breastfeeding again, but was worried about keeping up the supply/demand ratio. I was not looking forward to pumping when our second little girl was recently born. I knew it was a necessary evil given the supply/demand logistics and my imminent return to work. But, it was the little things that I wasn’t looking forward to…the sound of the previous pump I used, trying to figure out just the right station to get the milk to let down without the nipple pain, and then flow fast enough to get back to sleep or tend to other needs.

With a new EnJoye pump, I was immediately impressed with how quiet it was – and smooth. I love the CARE button to help with let down (and so does my toddler), and the quick tips provided with the pump were a huge help! I never realized how beneficial it was to change speeds during a session until I pumped about 10 oz in one sitting – quite unusual for me. Now, while I would still rather breastfeed, when pumping is necessary, I don’t dread it. I am able to quickly let down and empty whatever our baby hasn’t managed to do on her own or relieve myself from engorgement.

Because freezing milk for my return to work was a goal, being able to easily pump straight into Hygeia’s milk storage bags is such an added benefit. The secure fit, the ability to stand on their own, and the holders made the process less stressful about spilling any drop of liquid gold. While pumping, like breastfeeding, is a skill that you have to remember and takes some time, I have been very fortunate. Pumping is going so well with the EnJoye that after just two weeks I was looking for more milk storage bags. I actually had to buy a deep freezer because there wasn’t enough storage in our regular freezer. And, yes, our little girl is thriving beautifully at 9 lbs 2 oz at 2 1/2 week check up. I never imagined having this much milk stored so early and I am not even close to going back to work and pumping full time yet.

The added benefit of sharing the pump or recycling it is a distant thought away since we are just starting out, but I always like having options. I am just so glad that if pumping continues to go this well, it is likely I can achieve my goal of exclusive breastfeeding even after returning to work! “

I have up-and-down mixed feelings about the EnJoye. The plus side is it has worked well for the two months I have had it and I express more milk than my LO takes each day so I can build a surplus supply. I suppose that may be me and not the pump but I think it’s worth stating. Another plus is the variable speed and suction settings. I’m sure that might have something to do with my success at expressing so much. I like also that it has a closed system so if I wanted to give it away or sell it in the future, I can do so in good conscience. And the internal, rechargeable battery is a HUGE PLUS that I can walk around and get things done without being tied to a plug.

Now the down side – I HATE the carry & bottle bags, the record/play buttons, and the weird shape of the pump unit. I don’t use the silly backpack it came with. I use a freebee Emfamil bag I got in the hostipal. It’s just larger than the pimp unit and it can hold the pump, power cord, hoses, and pump parts. Everything just rolled in the bulky backpack (with no zipper). The bottle bag doesn’t have room to hold three bottles and an icepack too. Second, the record/play buttons – I transport this to and from work each day and it is a huge embarrassment when it accidentally starts to play (loudly!) as I lug my belongings down the hall – and typically records over anything I have purposefully recorded. (So, Hygeia, either build in volume control or an on/off switch!). I discovered that contact lense caps fit perfectly over the buttons so I don’t have to bother with them again! Third, but least, what is with that flap on the front of the pump? The instruction booklet looks like it was printed by a sixth-grader so it doesn’t state what it’s for.

So, all in all, I love the pump for the pump itself but the added features & supplies (aside from the hoses, filter and sheilds) were a waste to me.
