This is a hospital grade pump which means you get a lot of power and durability out of it as well as it is a closed system, made for multiple users.

It is easy to use. It has several speed adjustments on the pump itself, and several suction adjustments on the plastic piston part of the pump tubing kit that fits onto the pump. Additionally, the tubing kit can be used as a manual pump. I have never done so myself.

I used a Lactina Select several times per day for over a year and never had any problems with it. It's a workhorse of a pump, and very reliable.

While portable, it is a bit unweildy, and the price is prohibitive. Otherwise, I highly recommend it as a rental or loaner.

I really love this pump. It has nice strong suction. This was rented free from WIC for me, so I can't comment on the $1000 price tag since I didn't pay it. There are two down falls to this pump, it only a single speed, you can't increase the length of the suction or decrease it to bring on your let down. And it's not very portable... at all. I'll be throwing it in a backpack to take it to work.

This pump is great for any mom who needs to build up her milk supply. I was an exclusive pumper, which meant that I was pumping more than 7 times each day to ensure that I was able to collect enough milk for all of my daughter’s feedings. Although this pump is not as portable as some of the other pumps available it works wonders for frequent pumping. I rented this hospital grade pump from my lactation consultant and for 9 months I was able to provide my little girl with breastmilk. If you’ll need to pump frequently I suggest that you rent a Lactina.
