I started renting this pump from my lactation consultant right before I returned to work when my daughter was 3 months old. I was amazed at how much the pump actually felt like my daughter nursing. The only problem is that the Symphony does not have a speed setting so now that my daughter is getting older (she is close to 7 months now) she is nursing at a faster pace and I cannot get the pump to simulate her nursing as well. I will be switching to the Lactina at the start of the new month and I hope that it will be better for my situation. I’ve been renting the Symphony for $50 a month and have been happy with it, but I’m not sure that it would be worth buying for $1200.

I had a preemie born 3 months early so had to pump to feed my baby breast milk. The Medela Symphony Breast Pump
has been a great pump to use since I was pumping 6-8 times per day for several months. I was very happy with the quality of the pump. It was a little big for traveling but I did purchase a vehicle lighter adapter that let me pump while on the road. All in all it is a 5 star pump!
